The overall goal of the intervention is to strengthen capacity and improve competitiveness of APEC Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) as well as reducing emissions through low carbon technologies. Specifically the project aims to establish regional platform for discussing best practices and technology, and develop replicability strategies for energy efficiency and sustainable technology interventions in the APEC MSMEs, including mechanism to quantify the reduction of GHG emissions. A two-day energy efficiency forum and workshop will be organized that will bring together energy policy makers, technology developers, MSMEs industry representatives and government officials from the APEC member economies. The first day will focus on technical lectures and presentations where low carbon technologies and innovative best practices of APEC MSMEs will be presented. The last day will discuss mechanisms and relevant policies for the establishment of regional platform for discussing best practices relating to promoting the voluntary adoption and diffusion of low carbon technologies and supporting their development and utilization through appropriate technology transfer and financing policies.
