This project is grounded in the understanding that SMEs play an integral role in stimulating a competitive economy, and while competition policy and law provide mechanisms for addressing anti-competitive conducts and practices, the effectiveness of these policies is limited by the lack of awareness amongst SMEs.
As such, the project generally aims to expand the use of competition policy and law in the APEC region to encourage the development pf SME activity needed for the region to survive and thrive. With a particular focus on the Philippines, the project's central objective is to build the capacity of SMEs on CPL. Specifically, the project intends to identify the key issues face by SMEs in relation to CPL, as well as propose possible actions and interventions that could remedy these issues.
